Dr. Trina Walker is an assistant professor at Creighton University College of Nursing where she focuses on the use of pharmacogenomics in primary care specifically for management of mental health conditions. She has been successful with extramural and intramural funding to develop an interprofessional process for using pharmacogenomics in clinical practice, as well as for interprofessional educational webinars for practicing prescribers and pharmacists. Throughout this project her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner and her expertise in interprofessional practice were utilized to support the intended outcomes.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
This project addresses the critical shortage of accessible psychiatric-mental healthcare through development of a comprehensive interprofessional assessment tool. Created through systematic review, community engagement, and collaborative practice, the tool integrates social care and interprofessional healthcare teams to improve holistic service delivery for vulnerable populations at an urban community healthcare clinic.
