Presenting at CAB 2025:
This interactive session will explore one institution’s innovative interprofessional simulation series focusing on continuity of care and interprofessional education. The session will give attendees an opportunity to learn about this six-semester initiative that allows pharmacy students to follow the same patient for three years while interacting with other healthcare professional students to mimic real-life scenarios. Attendees will spend time brainstorming the transferability of this activity to their institution to create longitudinal interprofessional experiences for learners.
This session discusses the value of layered learning through training interested students to be facilitators for large-scale IPE activities. After this session, participants will be able to recognize opportunities for student facilitation, identify mentors for student facilitation collaboration, and describe benefits of students learning the principles of facilitation/debriefing.
The presentation will discuss the development of the IPR.Global Summer Research Institute, informed by a needs assessment involving practitioners, researchers, educators, administrators, students, and community members with patient or caregiving experiences. Findings from the needs assessment and how they informed curriculum development will be presented.
This presentation will discuss the benefits of hosting opportunities for student-lead interprofessional projects in both the clinical and educational realm. These projects promote student engagement while enhancing their collaboration, communication, scholarship, and policy-related skills.
This presentation highlights a decade-long journey in interprofessional education (IPE) at one institution, culminating in a symbolic Oath at graduation. The Oath bridges IPE to collaborative practice, inspiring others to continue fostering unity and collaboration among students. It demonstrates how IPE can evolve into impactful, patient-centered healthcare practice.
