Nicoline Breytenbach grew up on the central coast of California and earned her bachelor’s degree in Physiology from UCLA in 2022. She is a rising third-year medical student at the Phoenix campus of Creighton University School of Medicine and serves on the Student Advisory Council for the Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education, and Research. Nicoline also helps organize the Interprofessional Olympics, fostering community among healthcare students at her campus. With a strong interest in family medicine, she is passionate about continuing to promote interprofessional collaboration throughout her career to improve patient care.

Food insecurity among healthcare students impacts mental health, educational outcomes, and interprofessional socialization. This presentation explores sustainable food banks as a potential solution, using Maslow’s hierarchy and Gruppen’s learning environment framework to assess the effects on food security, loneliness, and interprofessional learning environments to promote student well-being and success.
