Marion Russell is an assistant professor in the Occupational Therapy Department at Creighton University. Her scholarly research focuses on several key areas, including the impact of enteral feeding on family mealtime routines, Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), and addressing health disparities experienced by transgender clients. Her recent research also explores the development of graphic illness narratives as an effective tool for fostering ethical reasoning and building empathy among both students and healthcare professionals.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
This session highlights how international students and community stakeholders were integrated into a community-engaged research project aimed at improving healthcare access for rural families with children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It also discusses securing multiple funding sources and fostering professional growth of the students through collaborative leadership.
