Anne Bradley Mitchell, PhD, ANP-BC teaches in the Jefferson College of Nursing, and for the past seven years has served as the co-Faculty Lead for the Jefferson Health Mentors Program (HMP) in the Jefferson Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (JCIPE). Dr. Mitchell facilitates in five programs in JCIPE and mentors undergraduate and graduate students on IPE research projects. Dr. Mitchell is an adult nurse practitioner who focuses on older adults in the community. Her research work is focused on older adults’ perception of the neighborhood-built environment and physical activity. She is currently conducting qualitative research on elder mistreatment screening for her Masters of Public Health capstone project at the Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health. Dr. Mitchell earned her doctorate in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, her Master's degree at UCLA and her BSN at the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
Nearly 50% of Americans have chronic illness, a number that is expected to grow. This study explored lessons chronically ill individuals wish to teach healthcare students through an interprofessional program. Themes included person-centered care, communication, and patient experiences, highlighting the importance of patient inclusion in improving healthcare education and outcomes.
