Craig Slater is the Director, Interprofessional Education and Practice at Boston University, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. In this role, he leads the interprofessional education (IPE) curriculum for students in occupational therapy, nutrition, physical therapy and speech language pathology programs. Over the past 15 years, he has been developing and delivering IPE in undergraduate and graduate programs at universities in both Australia and the United States. He also has experience implementing large-scale interprofessional training programs for health professionals.

Presenting at CAB 2025:

The presentation will discuss the development of the IPR.Global Summer Research Institute, informed by a needs assessment involving practitioners, researchers, educators, administrators, students, and community members with patient or caregiving experiences. Findings from the needs assessment and how they informed curriculum development will be presented.
The presentation will discuss a student-led, interprofessional cooking group for individuals with aphasia, informed by a Life Participation Approach to Aphasia. Students participated in a focus group following their involvement in the interprofessional cooking group. Findings from the thematic analysis and implementation strategies for educators will be presented.
