Dr. Lok is a professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering and the Director of the Virtual Experiences Research Group (VERG). He co-founded Shadow Health and in 2019 received the University of Florida Innovator of the Year award. Dr. Lok is internationally known for his work in human-centered computing and has received extensive funding for his work.

Artificial intelligence (AI) offers interprofessional education new tools for students’ learning. This project demonstrated the effective use of a patient chatbot in an online learning environment to promote health professions students’ appreciation of interprofessional collaboration skills and learning about complex patients.
