Alison Bobal is Head of Collection Development & Metadata and Head of Technology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she manages the selection, acquisition, and assessment of the library resources and technology that serve the university’s educational, research, and patient care mission. She previously served as a Technical Services Account Manager at EBL/ProQuest and a Life Sciences/Collection Development Librarian at Oregon State University. Before her library career, she was an Audiologist at the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research.

Children’s Nebraska built on its relationship with an academic institution to expand the breadth and depth of available knowledge-based resources. Interprofessional clinical staff now have access to current, scholarly biomedical content plus the expert assistance of a medical librarian. This new arrangement fully supports the missions of the institution.
