Presenting at CAB 2025:
This presentation discusses how health professions students assessed fall risk among older adults in assisted living facilities. Interprofessional student teams developed care plans with the aim of enhancing patient safety. The initiative improved student competencies, fostered collaboration, and provided actionable recommendations to mitigate fall risk, benefiting both students and residents.
The C-ICE 2. aligns with the 2023 IPEC Core Competencies to assess interprofessional team behaviors. This presentation highlights updates to the tool, reliability and validity testing results, and its implications for advancing interprofessional education.
In the work setting, health care professionals’ appearance has traditionally been conservative, but recently conservative appearance has been tested by the desire for personal expression. Student perceptions regarding what is considered professional vary and first impressions of the healthcare team and patients may be impacted.
Creighton’s “Violence across the Lifespan” courses, engaging over 1,300 students from nine health professions, aim to equip students with skills to recognize and address violence through a trauma-informed lens. Featuring expert lectures, interactive experiences, and interprofessional discussions, these courses emphasize how collaboration among diverse professionals strengthens support for survivors, improves care quality, and broadens students’ perspectives for optimal outcomes.
Discover how innovative interprofessional education (IPE) activities enhance pharmacy students' competencies, confidence, and team behavior. This session explores online and in-person formats, collaborative design with nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and evaluation outcomes using ICCAS and C-ICE© instruments, offering practical strategies for advancing interprofessional collaboration in healthcare education.
