Dr. Anthony Nguyen MD is a board-certified physician at University of California Irvine who specializes in family medicine.
He earned his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH, followed by a residency in family medicine at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
His clinical interests include preventive medicine, addiction medicine, weight management and advance care planning. He also has a special interest in social determinants of health, immigrant/refugee health and community health. Dr. Nguyen is particularly passionate about patient education and advocacy, as well as medical education including interdisciplinary collaboration. Presenting at CAB 2025:
This abstract describes a simulation that provided student pharmacists with a practice-based perspective to improve communication skills through interaction with physicians. It demonstrated a statistically significant increase in communication and teams and teamwork competencies. This experience shares an engaging opportunity to teach collaborative communication skills when navigating challenging conversations.
