Professor Koziol MSN, RN, is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing at Creighton University. Professor Koziol has been a registered nurse since 2009, working in inpatient mental health settings with geriatric, adult, and pediatric mental health patients. She has also been involved in several levels of leadership through hospital-shared governance and participated in supervisory roles in hospital settings. Dana is currently a student at the University of Kansas Medical Center in the Post-Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice- Leadership program. Her teaching and future research interests include; leadership development, moral distress in nurses and nurse managers, and care delivery models. Professor Koziol is a co-facilitator of the interprofessional fall risk experience among Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Pharmacy students.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
This presentation discusses how health professions students assessed fall risk among older adults in assisted living facilities. Interprofessional student teams developed care plans with the aim of enhancing patient safety. The initiative improved student competencies, fostered collaboration, and provided actionable recommendations to mitigate fall risk, benefiting both students and residents.
