Esther Simard St-Pierre is currently a doctoral student in educational technology at Université Laval. Her research focuses on citizen participation in classrooms and higher education through digital tools, with a particular interest in the challenges of digital inclusion for patient partners in health sciences, especially within the context of education for interprofessional collaboration.

This doctoral project explores how facilitators, including healthcare professionals and patient partners, use digital tools to enhance interprofessional collaboration, patient partnership, and interdisciplinary knowledge creation. It aims to identify affordances supporting inclusive online education, addressing barriers and unique challenges in digital participation for meaningful interactions and co-learning.
