Dr. James Leung (MD, FRCPC, CHSE) is a simulation educator, researcher, and leader at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, Canada. He serves as Assistant Dean of the Centre for Simulation Based Learning (CSBL) and Assistant Professor in Pediatric Emergency Medicine practicing at McMaster Children’s Hospital. His work focuses on using healthcare simulation to improve emergency care for children, enhancing interprofessional continuing education, and expand simulation access in low-resource areas using distance simulation. Dr. Leung is a Chief Developer of the Virtual Resuscitation Room, co-lead for the ImPACTS-Canada Pediatric Simulation Outreach Network, and Associate Editor for Simulation & Gaming.

It is crucial for training health professional students to develop the knowledge and skills to manage situations where patients are agitated, especially in youths. Therefore, an interprofessional simulation experience was offered to support health professional students learn how to mitigate these situations in preparation for their clinical placements and future practice.
