Professor Jeanette Lukas is currently pursuing a doctorate in social work. Her research focuses on simulation-based learning within practicum education. Professor Lukas has served as Clinical Assistant Professor and Practicum Education Coordinator at the Stony Brook's School of Social Welfare since 2019 as well as adjunct faculty at Adelphi University. Her academic career is dedicated to enhancing learning opportunities for graduate and undergraduate social work students in practicum education and across the curriculum. Professor Lukas comes to academia with 20 years of practice experience in mental health, homelessness, HIV -positive youth, foster care, and criminal justice.

Presenting at CAB 2025:

This oral presentation provides an overview of a uni-professional preparation to enhance healthcare students’ preparedness for IPE. Faculty from nursing and social welfare will share their perspectives on the impact the workshop had on their students.
This presentation will highlight the progressive development of an IPE simulation for social work and PMH nurse practitioner students, leading to better student outcomes. This included strengthening faculty collaboration, incorporating student and faculty feedback to improve the event, and the role of curriculum integration in improving student outcomes.
