Dr. Justin Weppner earned his bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Virginia Tech and his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship in General Surgery, residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and fellowship in Brain Injury Medicine. As a Navy General Medical Officer, he served in Afghanistan, earning multiple commendations, including the Purple Heart. In 2019, he joined VTCSOM and Carilion Clinic, becoming Section Chief of PM&R and Medical Director of the Brain Injury Center. Dr. Weppner is committed to education and research.

In Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), interprofessional teamwork is essential for optimal patient care. This study explores the construct validity of the Interprofessional Collaborator Assessment Rubric (ICAR) to assess and improve residents' interprofessional collaboration skills, ensuring effective leadership and participation in rehabilitation teams. The study validates the ICAR's construct validity, highlighting its potential for assessing interprofessional skills.
