Kathryn Wampler is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). With over 20 years of experience as a sonographer, she holds credentials in Abdominal, OB/GYN, Breast, Pediatric, and Vascular sonography. Kathryn earned her master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her sonography degree from UNMC. She is dedicated to teaching in didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings, and is passionate about shaping the next generation of sonographers. Her research interests include interprofessional education, simulation, and teaching methodologies.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) professionals face high risks of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs). An interprofessional education (IPE) activity was created where Occupational Therapy (OT) students assessed DMS students' ergonomics. Surveys showed improved understanding and confidence in ergonomic evaluations among students, highlighting the benefits of ergonomic education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
