Krista Estes is an accomplished healthcare professional and educator, serving as Assistant Dean of Master’s Programs and an Associate Professor. Formerly the Division Chair of Adult Health and Wellness at the University of Colorado, she has extensive experience in interprofessional education and practice. Dr. Estes earned her nursing degrees, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice, from the University of Kansas and holds certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has excelled in urgent care, emergency medicine, and curriculum development, earning awards like the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Estes actively contributes to national nursing organizations and healthcare education.

This presentation describes an innovative and replicable opportunity to incorporate naloxone training into interprofessional education curricula. The impact of these trainings includes improved knowledge, clinical skill acquisition, and appreciation of interprofessional collaboration as a means of addressing key ethics and health equity challenges of the opioid epidemic.
