Dr. Kristy (Brandon) Keefner, PT, DPT, EdD recently joined College of Saint Mary's Doctor of Physical Theapy program as assistant professor and co-director of clinical education. The program was uniquely envisioned and designed to be hybrid from the inception. Kristy is a physical therapist with CHI Creighton University Medical Center and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor (CS) with Creighton University Family and Community Medicine Department. Kristy is board certified in orthopaedics and certified in manual therapy. Her education and teaching path was further inspired by being part of a health team that was designed to be interprofessional and collaborative. Experience includes the transition of an academic medical center, becoming a practitioner in a building designed to become home of an academic interprofessional team, and experiencing the process of onboarding, conflict-resolution training, and team building.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
The findings from this qualitative case study offer an in-depth understanding of an organizational partnership, from its inception to implementation, that has contributed to formation of a high-quality interprofessional primary care clinic model within a larger academic health system. The findings resulted in a solution for scalable IPECP training.
