Lauren has held multiple nutrition leadership roles over her 35 year career and currently partners with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF) as a Clinical Nutrition Manager. She advocates for multidisciplinary communication, interaction, and collaboration. She serves on the Office of Interprofessional Learning Advisory Board and the CCF Dietetic Internship Advisory Board promoting interdiscplinary communication among medical professionals working at the top scope of clinical practice. As a CNM, Lauren believes in servant leadership, promoting highly dependable teams, and encouraging an engaged RD/DTR team in evidenced-based practice and professional development while maintaining interdisciplinary collaboration as a best practice guideline.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
We will explore our approach for addressing handoff challenges in nutrition care, focusing on communication breakdowns. Using process optimization and relational coordination, we identified root causes and fostered shared accountability. By enhancing communication, we developed a replicable model to improve interprofessional collaboration and streamline care transitions effectively.
