I am a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in cardiac sciences and vascular surgery, currently serving as Simulation and Lab Lead (Assistant Professor-Teaching) at the University of Calgary in Qatar. Pursuing a Master’s in health Professions Education at Qatar University, my research focuses on leveraging simulation-based education to enhance interprofessional education (IPE) and develop nursing students’ clinical competencies. I am particularly interested in improving interprofessional communication, collaboration, and mutual understanding through effective simulation scenarios and addressing competency gaps in nursing students’ clinical skills using modalities that foster critical abilities like clinical reasoning, patient assessment, and medication administration.

Presenting at CAB 2025:

This workshop explores the use of the think-aloud method in interprofessional education (IPE) simulations to enhance clinical decision-making and team collaboration. Participants will review research, engage in an active simulation exercise, and discuss best practices for integrating think-aloud into IPE scenarios, with a focus on improving health outcomes.
This scoping review explores the use of think-aloud protocols in health professions education, examining their impact on clinical reasoning, decision-making, and behavioral skills. It highlights gaps in simulation reporting and provides recommendations for standardizing protocols, diversifying scenarios, and integrating technology to enhance learning across disciplines and experience levels.
