Melissa Martin (BSN, RN, MedSurg-BC) has been a Registered Nurse on the cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at the University of Minnesota Medical Center for eleven years. During that time she has been been a nurse Preceptor for nine years and has performed nurse orientations for two years. She has also served as a clinical preceptor for student nurses for ten years and the Lead Preceptor for the Dedicated Education Unit on the cardiac IMC for the past three years.

Significant gaps exist in implementing interprofessional education in the clinical learning environment. In partnership with three health organizations, the UMN Center for Interprofessional Health launched an innovative academic-clinical partnership model designed to leverage and support IPE Champions employed within health systems. Champion presenters will share lessons learned, outcomes, and impacts.
