Dr. Neil Kals is a board certified Family Medicine physician and co-director for the interprofessional education coil in the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He treats patients in Omaha, NE and teaches medical students and family medicine residents. Along with general primary care, he also cares for patients with substance use disorder.

This interprofessional dysphagia education event, now in its second year, demonstrates the value of structured, theory-driven collaboration between medical and speech-language pathology students. Grounded in the IPEC competencies, the program provides a model for designing and evaluating effective interprofessional educational experiences that foster balanced engagement and skill-building.
