Richard Beuttler’s research contributions have been in the area of biostatistics with an emphasis in healthcare data. He is well versed in regression and longitudinal models contributing statistical support for descriptive studies, effectiveness of treatment interventions, and risk factors in cancer treatment, all of which have been presented in poster form or for publication. He has been involved with research projects through Chapman University, UCLA, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and Providence Healthcare. Many of these projects have been grant supported. He has around 60 peer reviewed articles and presentations at national/international conferences.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
This abstract describes a simulation that provided student pharmacists with a practice-based perspective to improve communication skills through interaction with physicians. It demonstrated a statistically significant increase in communication and teams and teamwork competencies. This experience shares an engaging opportunity to teach collaborative communication skills when navigating challenging conversations.
