Robert J. Valuck is a Professor in the Departments of Clinical Pharmacy, Epidemiology, and Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Valuck is also the Director of the Center for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention at CU, which houses the state’s opioid task force (the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention). The Consortium has evolved over the past 12 years to include a dozen work groups, with over 800 members across the state, focusing on key areas relating to education, prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery, and has developed a national reputation for its collaborative approach.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
This presentation describes an innovative and replicable opportunity to incorporate naloxone training into interprofessional education curricula. The impact of these trainings includes improved knowledge, clinical skill acquisition, and appreciation of interprofessional collaboration as a means of addressing key ethics and health equity challenges of the opioid epidemic.
