Dr. Ryan K. Batenhorst is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paramedicine, within the College of Nursing at Creighton University. He holds a Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership (Ed.D.) from Creighton University and a master’s in education (M.Ed.) from Nebraska Wesleyan University. His research focuses on post-traumatic stress in paramedic students, clinical education methodologies, and the application of virtual and augmented reality in paramedicine education. His recent scholarly work includes a doctoral dissertation examining the impact of critical incident exposure on paramedic students and collaborative projects on interprofessional education.
A nationally registered and licensed paramedic and EMS instructor, Dr. Batenhorst has contributed to texts and peer-reviewed publications in paramedicine education. He is dedicated to advancing education and resilience in paramedicine, while also aiming to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation to address challenges in paramedicine education and clinical practice.
