Sarah Sloan has worked as a clinical social worker in agency settings focused on mental health and mental health access for LGBTQIA+ clients for over twenty years. Ms. Sloan recently became a member of the Provost's Distinguished Leadership Service Academy at UT. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) through the state of Texas and a board-approved supervisor. Ms. Sloan is an active community volunteer with organizations that promote social justice in and out of the carceral system. Her professional interests include social work in healthcare, mindfulness, pedagogy, practicum education, mental health, group therapy, supervision, and LGBTQIA+ advocacy.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
Integrating ecological systems theory and trauma-informed care into training offers a novel approach to prepare health professions students to address the complexities of health inequity. A 3-hour training was developed that incorporates these two frameworks and convenes students across nine professions to collaboratively address issues involved with access to care.
