I am a currently a post-baccalaureate student at Dominican University who is looking to enter medical school. I have worked with Dr. Rose Ann Mathai this past year in multiple IPE simulations. We have assessed student perceptions on how IPE can improve their respective practices. Our research looks to find improvements in IPE training. In doing so, future practitioners will be equipped with IPE skills to provide a positive impact on their clients.
Presenting at CAB 2025:
Faculty engaged in a mock simulation and debriefing training prior to the student IPE simulation. Evaluation of their IPE competencies were assessed via pre and post survey responses. Faculty showed improved communication skills and roles/responsibilities, while students significantly progressed in the IPE competencies highlighting the importance of continuous faculty development.
