Shelley collaborates with the 22 member associations of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) to develop initiatives, resources, and events that support evidence-based teaching and learning for collaborative practice and improved population health outcomes. At IPEC, Ms. McKearney has led projects such as revising the IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice: Version 3 (2023), conducting a literature review on interprofessional education and patient care, and developing faculty institutes and leadership programs. She also serves on the IPEC Planning and Advisory Committee and is Secretary on the IPEC Board of Directors. Previously, Shelley was a Program Manager at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), where she coordinated Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) faculty development grants from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. She also contributed to AACN’s 2016 report Advancing Healthcare Transformation: A New Era for Academic Nursing. Before AACN, Shelley worked as Member Forums Coordinator at Frontier Strategy Group, a market intelligence and advisory firm, where she coordinated international events and teleconferences for global business professionals. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University.

Real examples of implementation will be shared, and participants will engage in activities and discussions to explore practical strategies for integrating the competencies into their local programs.
