Presenting at CAB 2025:
Knowledge and clinical application of anatomy and physiology (A&P) are fundamental for practicing healthcare professionals. This common educational requirement allows for the opportunity for interdisciplinary learning. Students from physiotherapy and occupational therapy participated in a series of interdisciplinary A&P cadaveric labs which was positively received with increased readiness for interprofessional learning.
Understanding students' perceptions of Interprofessional Education (IPE) is crucial for the effective development and implementation of IPE programs in educational institutions. Students entering health sciences programs in 2019 to 2022 were interested in IPE to help them foster patient-focused care or for their own personal learning.
It is crucial for training health professional students to develop the knowledge and skills to manage situations where patients are agitated, especially in youths. Therefore, an interprofessional simulation experience was offered to support health professional students learn how to mitigate these situations in preparation for their clinical placements and future practice.
