Interprofessional collaboration is inherent in health equity work. This presentation will demonstrate how a health system integrated healthcare delivery practices and community partners to support patients facing food insecurity. There are practical strategies that can be applied to interprofessional education experience development and implementation in practice settings to promote health equity.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will increase understanding of food insecurity and resources that can support patient health outcomes and healthcare delivery.
- Participants will identify the roles of key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community businesses, government agencies, and non-profits, in addressing food insecurity.
- Participants will develop a blueprint to design and implement interprofessional collaboration strategies for developing a hospital-based food pantry.
