Presenting at CAB 2025:
Strategic planning is crucial for new and existing offices of interprofessional education and practice, guiding alignment with institutional goals, optimizing resource allocation, and fostering collaboration. This workshop will guide new and established offices in a strategic planning process, offering lessons learned and next steps from Kotter’s model for leading change.
The presentation will discuss the development of the IPR.Global Summer Research Institute, informed by a needs assessment involving practitioners, researchers, educators, administrators, students, and community members with patient or caregiving experiences. Findings from the needs assessment and how they informed curriculum development will be presented.
Innovative models that prepare students for careers in rural health are of increasing interest. The UNC Rural Interprofessional Health Initiative (RIPHI) is an intentional interprofessional model that has been in existence since 2017. The focus of this session is to provide an overview of this work, lessons learned, and opportunities for future partnerships.
As service learning programs expand, it is critical to center these efforts around building trusting relationships with community partners. Our session will offer 3 examples of service learning programs centering psychological safety and relationships, with opportunities for participants to apply new insights/skills to their contexts maximizing collaborative teamwork and engagement.
