As interprofessional collaborative practice continues to evolve, it is essential to reassess and refine the competencies that drive effective teamwork in healthcare. The 2023 updates to the IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice offer an opportunity to enhance training, assessment, and integration across educational and professional settings. These competencies serve as a foundation for learners, educators, practitioners, and their partners in fostering stronger, more collaborative teams and improving patient and population health outcomes.

- Session Outline & Active Learning Strategies:Introduction: A brief theoretical overview to introduce key concepts and set the stage for discussion.

- Roundtable Discussions: Three facilitator-led small-group discussions, each followed by a group debrief, exploring implementation strategies, assessment methods, and challenges with potential solutions related to integrating the IPEC core competencies.

- Recap & Q&A: A collective review of key takeaways, followed by an interactive Q&A session to reinforce learning and encourage further dialogue.

Description:

This interactive session will engage participants in meaningful discussions, encouraging the exchange of ideas and promising practices for implementing the updated IPEC Core Competencies. Participants will gain practical insights and actionable strategies to effectively integrate these competencies into their home institutions and programs, enhancing interprofessional education and collaborative practice.
