In July 2023, the CUSOD established the After-Hours Clinic Program, where twice a week urgent care and primary care clinicians and dentists work alongside fourth-year dental students, oral maxillofacial surgery residents, and a Medicare Navigator to improve care for individuals who would otherwise seek help in emergency departments.

This project tackles critical communication barriers in noisy operating rooms using AI-based solutions. By integrating wearable technology and centralized audio systems, it improves speech clarity, reduces cognitive strain, and enhances interprofessional collaboration, fostering safety, accessibility, and efficiency in surgical care while offering scalable solutions for broader clinical environments.

Nearly 50% of Americans have chronic illness, a number that is expected to grow. This study explored lessons chronically ill individuals wish to teach healthcare students through an interprofessional program. Themes included person-centered care, communication, and patient experiences, highlighting the importance of patient inclusion in improving healthcare education and outcomes.

The Community Care Clinic at UCA is an interprofessional teaching clinic emphasizing whole-person care. Central to the model is the CARE Team, guided by core values and a culture of collaboration. Clients select providers based on needs, fostering personalized, team-based care. With 97% client satisfaction, the model is highly replicable.

This study analyzes interprofessional team interactions in postpartum inpatient settings, focusing on communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals. By examining recorded interactions, the research aims to identify key moments of teamwork, inform care coordination strategies, and improve interprofessional practices to enhance family-focused postnatal services and outcomes.
